Yesterday I went to Muheriwa, about 56 miles from Zomba, to see the progress of the church building. I was glad to see all walls are up and the workers are now taking care of the roof.
Once the roof work is completed, they will plaster the inside and finish the outside and then they will work on the floor. You may have noticed that the order of things is not as you'd expect (walls - roof - finishing - floor), but this is Africa (TIA as Pastor Keith and I love to say) and that's how things work here. I believe the guys that work would be completely puzzled if I was to ask them to change the order of the steps necessary to raise a building.
After the floor has been laid, they will install the doors and the benches and the last step is cleaning the outside, around the building and the church's property.
Pray this building will be completed soon and it will stay tall and strong in the face of future rains and floods. It is the only Christian church in that area.
