Some months ago, together with the US team from GA and KY, we were visiting the only Baptist Church in the village of Makandanje, where Brother Edward Katelele serves as a Pastor.
Although the state of the roof was not my main priority, I was able to take some photos to show that a lot of work needs to be done there also.
With the help of a family that loves the ministry in Malawi, we just finished changing the roof of this church. The old roof was nothing more than straw and plastic bags. The church family was patching it every year, so that it would not rain on them while at church.
Allow me to remind you that this church is one of the 19 churches we work in today. With the pastors and the leaders from these churches we organize the annual Pastor's Conferences, and in the near future they will also be sending students to our Bible Seminary.
The new roof is installed and now the people are working on the walls. Unless they are plastered, the rain water can still do a lot of damage. This week I need to take more cement bags so that the pastor and some other men can do the outside pointing.
Even though this building does not seem to look like a church to many of us, I can assure you that it is special for the people in this village. It is actually the best looking building in that community. Our Brothers and Sisters are extremely happy and thankful for what they have!
Here are some pictures with the old roof:

Each one of you can be a part of what God is doing here in Malawi. He is working here every day and every day we see new opportunities for ministry.
If you would also like to be involved, please see more details on the right side of this page. 100% of your donations will be used in the ministry.
Thank you.
