Today I went again to the village of Muheriwa to see the progress of the construction of the church building. As you know, the old building was destroyed during the heavy rains and floods at the beginning of the year.
The new building is almost completed, today I took the last bags of cement and a couple bags of whitewash. The exterior is finished and you will be able to see in the pictures below the way it is done. That work is called "pointing", and it serves two purposes: one, it protects the bricks against water and, two, it gives that design.
On the inside, people were pouring the floor today and on Monday they will whitewash the walls and paint the sides. The end result will look beautiful and I can hardly wait to show it to you guys.
We have not forgotten the benches and the pulpit; they will come after the building is completed.
Please keep the people working there in your prayers. Pray for wisdom and strength.
Pray for their safety also, the pastor just told us that an elephant came in the village and killed an entire family. It seems that everything happened early in the morning, when the people were still inside the house.
Pray for us!
