Clothes for the children of Kachere

Today it was a joyful day for the orphans in Kachere, all of them have received clothes, shoes and candies.

A couple of days ago we bought almost 200 pounds of clothes, enough to go around, and last week, a dear family here in Malawi gave us another box of nice clothes.

Adding to all those nice clothes, we also took some MANNA shoes, candies and a few toys. We estimate the total value of the gifts was more than $500.

Each one of the kids received several outfits, a pair of shoes and some candies. Malawi is going through hardships right now as the outside support had slowed down or even stopped. The Malawi Government had to increase the taxes and sadly the poor are the ones mostly affected. With the high prices today, so many people can't even afford to buy their daily food, much less clothes or shoes.

Today's gifts are fulfilling some urgent needs of these orphan children. They are even poorer than the rest of the people in the village and can't even afford to dream of new clothes or new shoes. Without these gifts, they would walk around bare foot and wearing nothing other than rags.

If you are receiving and reading our Prayer Letters, you probably already know that we are now providing food for them every day of the week, from Mondays to Sundays. Due to the "hunger season" Malawi is currently going though, these poor children need that extra meal since otherwise they would not eat anything at home.

We would like to take this opportunity and thank you for being part of the ministry in Malawi, ministry that bring Hope in the hearts and lives of the Malawian people.
