Even though we hit some small roadblocks along the road, today I am happy to let everyone know that the people in Muheriwa are now enjoying clean and sufficient water.
The type of soil we have in the village gave the drillers some problems, but we kept trying because we wanted these people to have a source of clean water they can call their own. Also, the timing could not have been better, since the previous water holes they were using are now completely dry. In a previous article I told you more about that and I showed you a heart breaking video.
In the pictures uploaded in this article you can see the entire property Hope for the Future owns in that village, you will see the location of the church and where the well is. I am reminding you that this is the 3rd well we dug here, the previous two proved to be unsuccessful.
All is remaining now is for the official confirmation that the volume of water is sufficient to sustain the village and then we will build a concrete foundation around the well and the draining for it.
